Cloud Cult developed in 1995 as Craig Minowa recruited several other artists to contribute to his solo recordings. The band’s early work earned Cloud Cult several offers from record labels, but all were rejected in favor of self-publishing.  As they began to play live, one of their show’s most distinctive features was the live painting by Connie Minowa and Scott West: over the course of a show they each completed a painting to be auctioned off at the end.

In 1997, lead singer Craig Minowa formed Earthology Records on his organic farm, powered by geothermal energy and built partially from reclaimed wood and recycled plastic. This nonprofit label uses only recycled materials and donates all profits to environmental charities.  The band also tours in a biodiesel van and in 2012 they performed an awe inspiring, downright amazing, mostly acoustic show at the tent.

Tent Show Radio is happy to welcome the return of folk music group from Nederland, Colorado, formed in 2006. The band consists of Bonnie Paine (vocals, washboard, djembe, musical saw), Sage Cook (electric banjo/guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, viola, vocals), Dango Rose (double-bass, mandolin, banjo, vocals), Daniel Rodriguez (acoustic guitar, electric banjo/guitar vocals) and Bridget Law (fiddle and vocals).

Their style of music is often referred to as “transcendental folk,” which incorporates elements of Scottish/Celtic fiddle tunes, original folk pieces, traditional ballads, bluegrass, psychedelic country, indie rock, reggae, 40s/50s jazz standards and an occasional hip-hop beat. All members of the band are multi-instrumentalists and contribute vocals and to songwriting.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is an American country-folk-rock band founded in Long Beach, California in 1966. The band is often cited as instrumental to the progression of contemporary country and roots music.

The band’s successes include a cover version of Jerry Jeff Walker’s “Mr. Bojangles”. Albums include 1972’s Will the Circle Be Unbroken, featuring such traditional country artists Mother Maybelle Carter, Earl Scruggs, Roy Acuff, Doc Watson, Merle Travis, and Jimmy Martin. A follow-up album based on the same concept, Will the Circle Be Unbroken: Volume Two was released in 1989, was certified gold and won two Grammy Awards and had one of their albums named Album of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards.  In 2011 they released a 5 song E.P., “Live From The Big Top”.
