After working as a songwriter, in 2001 at the age of 22, Isbell joined the rock band Drive-By Truckers while they toured in support of their album Southern Rock Opera.

Patterson Hood recalled that meeting Isbell was a “life-changing moment in time,” — becoming their third guitarist and beginning a songwriting collaboration that was lauded by many as a fertile time for the band.  On April 5, 2007, Isbell announced that he was no longer a member of Drive-By Truckers.  This past summer we were pleased to have Jason Isbell and his electrified band cross the Tent Show stage!

Gypsy fusion trio, The Trouble Notes, have been performing on the streets and stages of Europe and the United States since late 2012. The group consists of violinist, Bennet Cerven; guitarist, B-zy Brain; and percussionist, Oliver Maguire. Having been raised in different countries (France, UK, and USA), each individual brings a unique perspective and flavor to the group’s core. What they share is a common sacrifice – the comfort and stability of career and home – to travel and share their musical talents with every culture of the world while further growing as musicians and beings. Their music is described as a fusion of genre across the entirety of the musical spectrum, creating a sound that is truly unique to its own.

And

Big Top Chautauqua’s house band consisting of band leader Ed Willett, vocalist Phillip Anich and Jack Gunderson, Jane Aleckson on bass, Tom Mitchell on vocals and drums,  and special guests Stevie Matier on bodhran, percussion and vocals, Tom Draughn on guitar and vocals and Nori Perrine on fiddle.

“I think our music promotes the bridging of all tribes,” Nahko says. “The lyrics and the stories and our energy as a group break down people’s walls. You’ll find us in the most unique places on earth because it’s real, raw, and honest storytelling about what we’ve been through and what we believe in. And that’s why people connect with it. I think that’s the most important thing you can do with music.”  And connect with the people of the Big Top he did that magical evening under the September stars!
